Frolic Crafts

. . . hand-crafted pleasures for light-hearted folk

For your nest... Gourd Art!

The ancient art of gourding transforms fruit into treasure!  With pyrography, carving, inlay, ink, paint, and more, I create artistic vases, bowls, luminaries, covered containers,  and more from hard shelled gourds.  Come to a show to take a look at my work or join me in a class!

My "Leather & Lace" gourd, pictured left, combines carving, pyrography, inlay & filigree to create an airy, western vibe.

In my "Imagine" gourd I combined carving, ink, glass paint, inlay, pyrography & filigree such that each slight turn of the gourd reveals something new.

This "Pandora" gourd is lidded, and can be used as a container as well as a luminary.  U used filigree, carving, glass paint, ink, and pyrography to create it.
